How?

All data is hosted on your energy efficient 'Spider' running on any wifi network. The server communicates over the anonymous TOR network which by its onion routing prevents anyone from both listening but also, and more importantly, collect meta data on with who and when you communicate. You access it using a TOR browser on a desktop, android or iphone.

Regular chat apps

All other centralized chat apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram and even Whisper systems have centralised servers that can be monitored. Many of them not even encrypt your messages and even on those who do, meta data can be collected on your communication.

Silent Spider communicates on the anonymous TOR network. TOR uses 'onion routing' which means that messages are bounced across many different independent entities making surveillance impossible.
